A Rhode Island transplant from the state of Connecticut, Tara Phelps obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Assumption College in Worcester, MA. She went on to obtain her second Bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and practiced at Connecticut Children’s Hospital and Columbia Presbyterian Hospital as a pediatric oncology/bone marrow transplant nurse.
In 2003, she relocated to Rhode Island where she practiced as a pediatric intensive care nurse for Hasbro Children’s Hospital. She went on to obtain a Masters of Nurse Anesthesia at Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 2010. Her student and work experiences at the Rhode Island Hospital and Miriam Hospitals in Providence, RI consisted of Pediatric, Vascular/Thoracic, General, Orthopedic, Urologic, Bariatric and Trauma Anesthesia. She joined South County Anesthesia Associates in 2016.
She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and is certified by the National Board of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists.
